Format
The conference is structured a series of plenary meetings and parallel technical sessions to address these key issues. On the opening day members of a high level panel will discuss the role of technology in their institutions in fostering greater communication between parliaments and citizens. A second high level panel will consider the use of ICT in helping parliaments in young and emerging countries become more efficient and more effective.
On the second day, there will be a series of parallel technical sessions in which speakers will share the experiences of their legislatures in key technical areas: strategic planning of ICT; the development of websites to meet the needs of different audiences; the use of new media; systems for supporting the work of the chamber; the management of legislative documentation throughout its lifecycle; the use of open standards for documents; the implementation of XML. The plenary sessions will close the day and the Conference.
The conference will also set aside a session to discuss APKN and the way forward in the next Five years.
