Expected Outcome

The expected outcomes of the conference will be:

  • a final declaration on the role and commitments of the African Parliaments in the development of an equitable Information Society in Africa;
  • a shared agenda for initiatives meant to:
  • promote fora to debate on how to enable common legal frameworks for the diffusion of ICT and the creation of opportunities to harness the benefits of the information society and knowledge economy in Africa;
  • provide parliamentarians with analyses and guidelines for the formulation of information society legislative frameworks with reference to the specific  legislative and technological context of African countries.
